National Champs Expected to Play in VBL
Two players from Denison's Division III National Championship team are expected to join VBL teams this summer
Congratulations to Denison College on winning the Division III National Championship.
The Big Red played eight games in six days to win the title. Denison fought back after losing their first game in the tournament.
Two Denison players are expected to play in the Valley Baseball League this summer.
Cooper Marrs, who is expected to play for the Staunton Braves, was named to the all-tournament team after picked up two wins in two starts. Marrs pitched 14 innings in the national championship tournament and allowed just six hits and no runs. Marrs finished the season with a 7-0 record and a 2.05 ERA.
Big Red shortstop Kelly Crittenberger is expected to join the Culpeper Cavaliers this summer. Crittenberger singled to lead off the 10th inning in the winner-take-all national championship game vs. Endicott and scored the game-winning run. Crittenberger hit for a .354 average this season.
Denison finished the year with a 51-3 record.
