Former VBL Players On Posey Midseason List
George Washington's Robbie Lavey, Florida Gulf Coast's Jon Embury and Rochmond's Dylan Winebrenner were named to the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watchlist/
Former VBL catchers Dylan Winebrenner (Richmond), John Embury (Florida Gulf Coast) and Robbie Lavey (George Washington) have been named to Buster Posey Award Midseason Watchlist.
The Buster Posey Award recognizes the top catcher in college baseball. The midseason list featured 50 catchers.
Lavey (Charlottesville Tom Sox) leads GW in hitting with a .346 average. He had five homers and a team-high 28 RBIs. Defensively he has a .980 field percentage. Lavey has six passed balls and has thrown out 14 runners.
Embury (Front Royal Cardinals) is hitting .368 and leads his team in homers with 13 and RBIs. with 50. Defensively, Embury has a /991 fielding percentage. He has four passed balls and has thrown out 15 would-be base stealers.
Winebrenner (Front Royal Cardinals) leads the Richmond Spiders in the triple-crown statistics with a .356 batting average, 12 homers and 34 RBIs. He has a .994 fielding percentage this season and has thrown out 14 base runners. Winebrenner has not allowed a passed ball this season.
