Bert Named ODAC Pitcher of the Week

Bridgewater College senior Evan Bert was named the ODAC Pitcher of the Week earlier this week.

Bert helped Bridgewater earn a sweep at Randolph-Macon by tossing a seven-inning complete game shutout in the Eagles' 19-0 victory in game two. He allowed just three baserunners on two hits and a hit batsman, facing just three batters over the minimum. He held the Yellow Jackets to a .091 batting average thanks in part to a season-high eight strikeouts. He retired the first six batters he faced and struck out the side in the fifth while also recording eight ground-ball outs. For the season, Bert is 5-2 with a 4.43 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 40.2 innings of work.

Bert played in the VBL for the Strasburg Express.
