July 8: Bates Named NACSB National Pitcher of the Week

Winchester Royals RHP Ryan Bates (Binghamton) has been named the NACSB National Pitcher of the Week.

Bates pitched a complete-game, seven-inning shutout on July 2 to defeat the Culpeper Cavaliers, 1-0. Bates allowed just two hits in his seven innings on the mound. He struck out 10 and did not walk a bater.

Bates is the third Valley Baseball League player this summer to receive a national honor from the NACSB.
