Generals reclaim sole possession of first...
Winchester 8, New Market 5
A six-run seventh inning propelled Winchester to an 8-5 win over New Market. A two-run single by Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) followed by a solo homer from E’mar Fleming II (High Point) highlighted the seventh-inning uprising.
Fleming finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Bodie Pullen (Richmond) was 2-for-5 and JP Williams (Shenandoah) was 3-for-3.
For the Rebels, Johnathan Mallow (Potomac State) and Matt Murchison (UNC-Wilmington) each had two base hits while Mario Lopez Jr., (Rollins) drove in two runs.
Strasburg 12, Woodstock 0
Strasburg broke open a close game with 10 runs in the fifth inning to defeat Woodstock.
Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) powered the Express with a 3-for-3 night, featuring a homer and six RBIs. Jay Douglas (Eastern Kentucky) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Tommy Kirwan (Wofford) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Donovan Whitfield (Norfolk State) and Colton Starling (Western Carolina) combined for the shutout. Whitfield allowed two hits and struck out three in three innings while Starling allowed two hits and struck out seven in four innings.
Waynesboro 12, Front Royal 4
Waynesboro regained sole possession of first place in the South with the 12-4 win over Front Royal.
Christian Knight Wagner) was 2-for-5 with five RBIs for the Generals and Jake Mueller (UNC-Greensboro) was 3-for-4. Holden Brauner (State College of Florida) and Ben Geary (South Suburban College) each added two hits. Greg Caban (Florida Southwestern) and Ben Schechterman (Eastern Michigan) each drove in a pair of runs. Brice Abbott (Longwood) added a soli homer.
Waynesboro starter Trey Graydon) Gardner-Webb) pitched 6.1 innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
For the Cardinals, James Green (Presbyterian) drove in two runs while teammates Nicholas Dromboski (Stony Brook) and Joseph Montgomery (Villanova) each had two base hits.
Charlottesville 12, Staunton 2
The Tom Sox scored six runs in the first inning and pulled away for a 12-2 over Staunton.
Chase Jackson (Seminole State) was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Tom Sox. Benjamin Cardone (VMI) drove in three runs and Kai Aoki (Colby) added two hits.
Brandon Dahlman (Liberty) pitched the final 1.2 innings for the Sox and recorded all five outs by strikeout.
For the Braves, Brody Melton (Milligan) had two hits and Kaleb Williams (Liberty) added a solo homer.
Covington 6, Harrisonburg 2
Covington defeated the Turks, 6-2, at Casey Field.
Cross Yarborough (Charleston Southern) was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Frankie Clarke (West Oklahoma State) added three hits. Kelven Perera (Ole Miss) homered and drove in two runs. Darrius Brown (Maryland-Eastern Shore) and Mason Reid (Shawnee State) both had two base hits.
Jacks’ starter Lucas Rodriguez (Palm Beach State) pitched six innings and allowed one run on three hits.
For the Turks, Elijah Guilliams (Flagler) was 2-for-4 with a solo homer.
Culpeper 7, Purcellville 2
Culpeper scored four runs in the seventh in a 7-2 win over the Cannons.
Ty Powell (Texas State) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Joey Rogers (Wingate) added two hits for the Cavaliers.
Culpeper starter Tyler Kaltreider (Lynchburg) pitched six innings and allowed one run on four hits.
