Braves move into first-place tie in South...
Staunton 19, Strasburg 2
Staunton scored 19 runs on 15 hits to overwhelm the Express.
Hudson Walburn (West Alabama) was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and Julian Braga (Florida Southwestern) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for the Braves. Ethan Barnes (Liberty) was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and Keegan Haseler (JMU) added two RBIs.
Braves starter Owen Shaprow (Towson) allowed two runs on four hits in his five innings on the mound to get the win.
Ben Green (UNC-Asheville had two hits for the Express.
Charlottesville 10, Harrisonburg 0
The Tom Sox scored eight runs in the second and coasted to win over Harrisonburg.
Grayson McCollum (Kennesaw State) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Will Yow (Virginia) was 3-for-3. Luke Craddock (East Carolina) added two RBIs for the Tom Sox.
Lucas Cash (Bridgewater) pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits in seven innings. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.
Elijah Guilliams (Flagler) had two hits for the Turks.
Culpeper 8, Waynesboro 7
Culpeper held off a ninth-inning rally by Waynesboro to defeat the Generals 8-7.
Ty Powell (Texas State) was 2-for-3 and Nick Matson (Long Island) finished 2-for-5 for the Cavaliers. Joey Rogers (Wingate) and Braden Weaver (Liberty) each drove in a pair of runs.
Culpeper Alexander Crudder (DeSales) gave up two earned runs on seven hits in five innings to earn the win.
For the Generals, Jake Mueller (UNC-Greensboro) was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Holden Brauner (State College of Florida) finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Grag Caban (Florida Southwestern) added two RBIs.
Also on Wednesday, Waynesboro defeated the Cavaliers 4-2 in the completion of a suspended game.
Purcellville 7, Covington 3
The Cannons snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth in a 7-3 win over Covington.
Ethan Acevedo (VCU) was 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Cannons.
Purcellville starter Jerethzael Pica El Paso CC) pitched four innings and allowed one run on four hits. He struck out five and walked two. Easton Embrey (Florence Darlington Tech) allowed one run on three hits in three innings of relief.
For the Lumberjacks, Frankie Clark (Western Oklahoma State) was 3-for-5. Chris Carroll (Eastern Florida State) and Jacob Levesque (Cloud County CC) each added two base hits.
Front Royal 16, New Market 8
Front Royal overcame a 5-2 deficit with 11 runs in the sixth inning to defeat New Market.
Joseph Montgomery (Villanova) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Front Royal and Dominic Archila (Wichita State) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Sangwoon Jeon (New Mexico Military Institute) and Nicholas Dromboski (Stony Brook) both had two hits and both drove in two runs. Shawn Andrade (Mercer) added two hits, and Ty Mercado (Harford CC) produced two runs batted in.
Parker Bauknecht (New Mexico Military Institute) pitched four innings in relief and allowed no runs on one hit. He struck out five and walked two.
For The Rebels, Jayden Harriel (Florida Atlantic) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Zachary Banks (Embry-Riddle) added two base hits.
Winchester 8, Woodstock 1
Jamie Padilla (Shenandoah) finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Royals. Teammates Zach Fortman (Sewanee), Carl Keenan (Shenandoah) and Brody Connors (ODU) each added two base hits.
Winchester’s Conner Chancey (Shepherd) pitched three scoreless innings. He allowed three hits and struck out five.
KJ Moon ((Augusta) and Asher Bates (Dallas College-Mt. View) each had two hits for the River Bandits.
