Turks walk off Lumberjacks...
Harrisonburg 5, Covington 4
Brody Dalton (Kent State) hit a two-run walk-off home run to lift the Turks to a 5-3 win over Covington.
Elijah Guilliams (Flagler) was 3-for-5 with three RBIs for the Turks.
Cross Yarborough (Charleston Southern) was 3-for-4 for the Lumberjacks. George Pardo Jr. (Palm Beach State) and Bryant Zayas (Lynn) each had two hits for the Jacks.
Woodstock 9, Strasburg 2
Three Woodstock pitchers limited Strasburg to just three hits in a 9-2 win.
Woodstock starter Austin Ihrig (Kansas Wesleyan) pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on two hits. He struck out four and walked three.
Jeovanni Hernandez (Florida Gulf Coast) was 4-for-4 for the River Bandits and Conner Worth (JMU) was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs. Maximus Reaume (Wingate) added two base hits.
Colton Schwarz (Florida) had a two-run homer for the Express.
Staunton 16, Culpeper 13
Staunton jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and held on for the 16-13 victory at Culpeper.
Hudson Walburn was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Brody Melton (Milligan), Keegan Haesler (JMU), Kaleb Williams (Liberty) and Easton Ogle (VMI) each had two base hits. Williams and Ogle each drove in two runs. Williams and Jose Vazquez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) both homered for the Braves.
Ethan Plesser (Longwood) did not allow a hit over the final 2.2 innings to earn the save.
Lucas Franz (Christian Brothers) and Johnny Sutryk (Charlotte) each had two hits for the Cavaliers. Ty Powell (Texas State) and Nick Matson (Long Island) each drove in two runs. Tyler Benick (Long Island) had a three-run homer and Greyson Gregg (Mercer) had a two-run dinger for Culpeper.
Waynesboro 8, Charlottesville 3
The Generals rode a solid pitching effort Saturday to defeat Charlottesville 8-3.
Waynesboro starter Aidan Kempf (Pace) pitched four innings and allowed two runs on six hits. Matthew Demetree (Rollins) added three shutout innings, allowing just one hit.
Greg Caban (Florida Southwestern) had two hits for the Generals while Nick April-Gath (Florida Southwestern) and Hunter Wallace (Lake Sumter) each drove in two runs.
Caiden Combs (Auburn) and Chase Jackson (Seminole State) each had two base hits for the Tom Sox while teammate Brayden Bachman (East Carolina) drove in two runs.
Winchester 5, Front Royal 1
The Royals took the lead with three runs in the seventh to defeat Front Royal 5-1.
Brody Connors (ODU) was 3-for-5 for the Royals and JP Williams (Shenandoah) was 2-for-2.
Winchester starter Brock Whipkey (Potomac State) pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits. Lucas Marrero (Lynchburg) and Luke Hogue (Northwest Shoals) each added two scoreless innings on the mound.
Front Royal starting pitcher Matthew Rios (South Alabama) pitched six shutout innings. He allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked two.
Henderick Torres (Jackson State) had two hits for the Cardinals.
New Market 10, Purcellville 7
New Market took the lead with a four-run sixth to defeat Purcellville 10-7.
John Mallow (Potomac State) and Madox Land (Pensacola State) each had three hits and each drove in two runs for the Rebels. Mario Magana Jr. (Miami) had a three-run homer and Zachary Banks (Embry-Riddle) drove in three runs for the Rebels. Dylan Murphy (Florida Atlantic) contributed two base hits.
Ethan Acevedo (VCU) was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and Vincenzo Cusat (Frederick CC) belted a three-run homer for the Cannons. Seth Williams (West Virginia), Josh Ibe (Stephen F. Austin) and Murchael Turner (Long Beach State) each added two base hits.
