Jacks one-hit Waynesboro...
Culpeper 7, Harrisonburg 3
Culpeper scored three runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Turks. The big blow in the sixth was two-run homer by Luca Periello.
Periello (Mercer) was 1-1 with two walks and three RBIs. Johnny Sutryk (Charlotte) belted a pair of solo homers. Greyson Gegg (Mercer) added two hits.
Culpeper starter Tyler Kaltreider (Lynchburg) pitched six innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits. He struck out seven and walked two.
Trey Miranda (Palm Beach Atlantic) had two hits and Elijah Giolliams (Flagler) added two RBIs for the Turks.
Covington 3, Waynesboro 0
Three Covington pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over the Generals.
Lumberjacks’ starter Hunter DePriest) Radford) pitched seven innings. He allowed two hits, struck out eight and walked one. Robert Boing (Barry) pitched the eighth and Eli Porter (Charleston Southern) worked a 1-2-3 ninth for the save.
Frankie Clark (West Oklahoma State) and Bryan Zayas (Lynn) each had two hits for the Jacks. Luis Acosta gave Covington the lead with a run-scoring single in the first.
Waynesboro starter Chase Booth (Roanoke) pitched six innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits. He struck out four and walked two.
Front Royal 13, Strasburg 10
Front Royal scored five runs in the sixth to pull away for a 13-10 win over the Express. Danny Orr (UMBC) ignited the sixth-inning surge with a two-run single to give the Cardinals the lead.
James Green (Presbyterian) was 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs scored and three RBIs for Front Royal. Orr finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Joseph Montgormery (Villanova) added three hits and two RBIs and Sangwoon Jeon (New Mexico Military Institute) had two hits and two runs batted in.
Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) and Colton Schwarz (Florida) both homers for the Express. Brown had three RBIs and Schwarz added two runs batted in. Marshall McGowan (Western Carolina) had two base hits.
Strasburg won the earlier game Friday, 12-11, a contest suspended with the score tied 10-10.
Winchester 11, Purcellville 7
Winchester took the lead with nine runs in the fifth inning and defeated the Cannons 11-7.
Brody Connors (ODU) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Cameron Tellefsen (ODU) drove in a pair of runs for the Royals.
Thomas Marsala (Northwestern State), Michael Turner (Long Beach State) and Ryan Gargett (Lubbock Christian) each drove in two runs for the Cannons. Vincenzo Cusat (Frederick CC) had three base hits.
Charlottesville 10, Staunton 7
The Tom Sox rallied from a 6-0 deficit to defeat Staunton 10-7. Bryce Neely (Virginia) put the comeback in motion with a three-run homer in the fourth.
Tommy Landsnes (Ball State) and Aiden Harris (Virginia) each had two hits for the Tom Sox.
Asher Sabom (Chipola) gave the Sox a strong relief effort, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing no runs on four hits. He struck out four and did not walk a batter. Trevor Booten (Auburn) earned the save despite walking the bases loaded in the ninth. Booten had three strikeouts to work out of the jam.
Josh Hall (Patrick Henry CC) was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs for the Braves. Kaleb Williams (Liberty) also homered for Staunton.
New Market 11, Woodstock 8
New Market put the game away with five runs in the eighth to defeat Woodstock.
Matthew Murphy (Goldey Beacom) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Matt Mutchison (UNC-Wilmington) drove in three runs for the Rebels.
New Market starter Jansen Kenty (Georgia Southern) pitched five shutout innings, allowing just two hits. He struck out eight and walked two.
JT Andersoky (DeSales), Conner Worth (JMU), Lucas Badalato (Gulf Coast State) and Austin Ford (Averett) each had two hits for the River Bandits. Badalato and Abdriel Delgado (Jacksonville) each drove in two runs.
