Staunton 3, Covington 1
Staunton scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Covington 3-1.
Hudson Walburn (West Alabama) drove in two runs with a two-out, bases-loaded single to give the Braves the lead.
Staunton starter Owen Shaprow (UMBC) pitched seven innings and allowed one run on two hits. He struck out seven and walked one. Kaleb Smith (Liberty) improved to 3-0 with the win. He struck out four and did not walk a batter.
Covington starter Luke Richards (WVU-Tech) pitched five scoreless innings. He allowed three hits, struck out four and walked two.
Culpeper 6, Woodstock 5
Culpeper blanked the River Bandits over the final three innings to hold on for a 6-5 victory.
Jackson Gimbel (CNU worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save.
Ty Powell (Texas State) and Lucas Periello both finished 2-for-4 and both drove in two runs. Tyler Benick also had two hits for Cavaliers.
Logan Duffy had two hits for the River Bandits and JT Anderosky (DeSales) homered and drove in two runs.
Waynesboro 5, Strasburg 3
Waynesboro scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat the Express 5-3.
Ben Geary was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs for the Generals. Jake Mueller added two base hits.
Ryan Grzesiak (Florida Southwestern) blanked Strasburg over the final two innings to get the win. He did not allow a hit while striking out three and walking two.
Eddie Catillo (New Orleans) homered and drove in all three Strasburg runs. Tommy Kirwan added two base hits.
New Market 5, Winchester 4
New Market’s Mario Magana Jr. (Miami) drove in the winning run with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth in a 5-4 win over Winchester.
Magana and Jayden Harriel each had two hits for the Rebels.
Caleb Short struck out two batters in the top of the ninth to get the win on the mound.
Winchester starter Ryan Bates (Binghamton) pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out six and walked one.
Cameon Tellefson (ODU) belted a pair of solo homers for the Royals. Zach Fortman (Sewanee) was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs.
Charlottesville 12, Harrisonburg 4
Charlottesville took the lead with six runs in the sixth inning to down the Turks.
Will Yow (Virginia) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored, three RBIs and three stolen bases for the Tom Sox. Tommy Landsnes (Ball State) was 3-for-5.
Trevor Booten (Auburn) got the win with 1.1 innings of hitless relief.
Front Royal 12, Purcellville 2
Front Royal broke open a close game with four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Cannons.
Sangwoon Jeon (New Mexico Military) and James Green (Presbyterian) powered the Cardinals. Jeon was 3-for-5 with a double, homer and five RBIs. Green finished 4-for-5 with a homer and three runs scored.
Konnor Graham (South Alabama) pitched six innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Shintaro Inoue (Kansas State) was 3-for-4 for Purcellville.
