Woodstock ends Cannons none=game winning streak
Staunton 4, Harrisonburg 3
Staunton erased a 3-0 deficit with four runs in the eighth to defeat the Turks, 4-3.
Jose Vasquez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) tied the score with a three-run, inside-the-park homer. Easton Ogle (VMI) walled and then stole second and third. Keegan Haesler then drove in the go-ahead run with a double.
Ethan Plesser (Longwood) got the final out of the game on a pop-up to record the save.
Lane Duff (JMU) pitched seven scoreless innings for the Turks. He allowed five hits, struck out six and walked three.
Trey Miranda (Palm Beach Atlantic) drove in two runs for the Turks.
Waynesboro 6, Winchester 2
Waynesboro scored four runs in the second and went on to defeat the Royals 6-2.
Sam Guth (Coastal Alabama) was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs for the Generals. Aidan Autovino (Mount St. Mary’s) had two base hits while Brice Abbott (Longwood) homered and drove in two runs.
Generals’ starter Sean Costello (Pace) allowed one run on six hits in four innings. He struck out three and walked one.
Tyler Oaks (Western Carolina) pitched five shutout innings for the Royals. He allowed two hits, struck out seven and walked two.
Brady Benevides (Barry) had three hits for Winchester. Bodie Pullen (Richmond) and Cameron Tellefsen (ODU) each added two hits.
Culpeper 6, New Market 4
Culpeper broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the eighth on a run-scoring single by Nick Matson (Long Island) and the Cavaliers defeated New Market 6-4.
Noah Burnham (Belmont) was 3-for-4 and Matson finished 3-for-6. Ty Powell (Texas State) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs for Culpeper.
Mario Magana Jr. (Miami) was 3-for-5 for the Rebels. Joe Terranova (Missouri State), Matthew Murphy (Goldey Beacom) and Gage Dorris (Wharton JC) each added two hits for New Market. Mario Lopez Jr. (Rollins) added a solo homer.
Woodstock 15, Purcellville 7
Woodstock scored seven runs in the first and the River Bandits snapped Purcellville’s nine-game winning streak with a 15-7 win.
Yuma Koda (Hibbing CC) was 3-for-6 with two RBIs while KJ Moon (Augusta) also drove home two runs. Jeovanni Hernandez (Young Harris), Dylan Howell (Patrick Henry CC) and Lucas Badalata (Gulf Coast State) each added two base hits for Woodstock.
Josh Ibe (Stephen F. Austin) was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs for the Cannons.
