June 13: Purcellville won its ninth straight game in Saturday action.
Charlottesville 5, Culpeper 3
Charlottesville scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Culpeper.
Grayson McCollum (Kennesaw State) pulled the Tom Sox to within one run, 3-2, with a run-scoring double and a two-run double by Tommy Landsnes (Ball State) game Charlottesville the lead. Aiden Harris (Virginia) capped the eighth-inning rally with a run-scoring double, making the score 5-3.
McCollum and Lucas Ream (Shippensburg) each had two base hits and Landsnes drove in two runs for the Tom Sox.
Lucas Arbalaez (Randolph-Macon) was the winning pitcher. In 2.0 innings, he allowed two hits and struck out one batter. Trevor Booten (Auburn) earned the save by working the ninth.
Joey Rogers (Wingate) was 4-for-4 for the Cavaliers. Greyson Gegg (Mercer) had three hits and Ty Powell (Texas State) added two.
Culpeper stater Tyler Kaltreider (Lynchburg) pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits. He struck out four and walked two.
Strasburg 7, Winchester 4
Strasburg snapped a 3-3 tie with four runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Royals 7-4.
Madden Williams (Samford) gave the Express the lead with a two-run homer and Tanner Waldrop (Auburn) capped the sixth inning with a two-run single.
Madden finished with three RBIs and Waldrop drove in two runs. Baylor Roberts (UAB) and Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) each had two hits for the Express.
Colton Starling (Western Carolina) pitched the ninth to get the save.
Cameron Tellefson (ODU) was 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs for Winchester. Bodie Pullen (Richmond) and Jaime Padilla (Shenandoah) each had two hits for the Royals.
Harrisonburg 15, Covington 2
Harrisonburg scored five runs in the first and rolled to a 15-2 victory.
Brody Dalton (Kent State) was 2-for-2 with a homer and four RBIs for the Turks. Elijah Guilliams was 4-for-5 with five RBIs. Jaxon Walker (Walters State), Conner Spelman (Jacksonville) and Garrett Harper (Chipola) each added two base hits.
Brodie Scott (Jacksonville) pitched four shutout innings, allowing just two hits.
Darrius Brown (Maryland-Eastern Shore) was 2-for-3 with a homer for the Jacks.
Front Royal 10, Woodstock 5
Front Royal scored five runs in the sixth to take the lead in a 10-5 win over Woodstock.
Sangwoon Jeon (New Mexico Military Institute), Ty Mercado (Harford CC) and Dominic Archila (Wichita State) had run-scoring hits for the Cardinals in the sixth-inning rally.
Jeon was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Danny Orr (UMBC) was 3-for-5 with two runs batted in for Front Royal.
Braydon Harris (Potomac State), JT Anderosky (DeSales) And Maximus Reaume (Wingate) each had two hits for the River Bandits.
Staunton 2, Waynesboro 1
Four Staunton pitchers combined to limit Waynesboro to three hits in the 2-1 win.
Braves starter Jonathan Strohecker (JMU) pitched 5.2 innings and allowed one run on three hits. He struck out five and walked three. Lucas Ward (Shepherd) retired both hitters he faced, and Ethan Plesser (Longwood) retired the next five in order. Kaleb Smith (Liberty) struck out the side in the ninth to earn the save.
Jose Vasquez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) had two hits and drove in a run for the Braves.
Aidan Autovino (Mount St. Mary’s) hit a solo home run to account for the Generals run.
Generals’ starter Aidan Kempf (Pace) pitched five innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He struck out seven and walked five.

Purcellville won its ninth straight game with a 6-2 win over the Rebels.
Erick Martinez (North Central Texas) and Andrew Bell (Duke) each had two hits for the Cannons. Ethan Acevedo (VCU) and Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) each drove in two runs.
Merrick Beamish (North Central Texas) pitched 4.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits. He struck out seven and walked three.
Erick Torres (Palm Beach State) had two hits for the Rebels.
