Jonathan Strohecker (JMU) struck out 12 in five shutout innings and the Staunton Braves defeated Harrisonburg 6-2.
Strohecker allowed just three hits and did not walk a batter. Trey Campos (JMU) and Lorenzo Atwell )Walters State) combined for five strikeouts, giving the Braves 17 Ks on the night.
Jose Vasquez (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) and Josh Hall (Patrick Henry CC) each had two hits for the Braves and Hudson Walburn ) West Georgia) drove in two runs.
For the Turks, Andrew Fonte (San Jacinto) had two hits while Palmer Edwards (St. John’s River) pitched four innings and allowed just one base hit.
Woodstock 21, Front Royal 3
Woodstock scored 21 runs on 17 hits in a 21-3 win over the Front Royal Cardinals.
Bryont Green was 2-for-3 with six RBIs to lead the River Bandits. Maximus Reaume (Wingate) was 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Logan Duffy (Louisiana Monroe) was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Jeovanni Hernandez (Young Harris) went 2-for-3 with three runs driven in.
Dominic Archila (Wichita State) had a double for the Cardinals only hit of the night.
Culpeper 10, Charlottesville 7
Johnny Sutryk (Charlotte) hit a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting Culpeper to a 10-7 win over the Tom Sox.
Sutryk finished 2-for-5 in the contest. Parker Hildebrand (Mount St. Mary’s) and Evan Escobar (Wichita State) each added two hits for the Cavaliers.
Tanner Craytor (Sewanee) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Charlottesville.
Waynesboro 12, Covington 8
Waynesboro broke a 3-3 tie with seven runs in the sixth inning to defeat Covington 12-8.
Nicholas April-Gath (Florida Southwestern) was 3-for-4 for the Generals while Robbie Demetree (Florida Southwestern) and Sam Guth (Coastal Alabama) each added two hits. Gregory Caban (Florida Southwestern) had two RBIs.
Chris Carroll (East Florida State College) was 3-for-6 for the Lumberjacks. Frankie Clark (West Oklahoma State) and Thomas Fratto (Eckerd) each added two base hits.
New Market 8, Strasburg 7
New Market scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Strasburg Express.
Matt Murchison (UNC-Wilmington) had two hits for the Rebels while Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) and Caden Haywood (Western Carolina) each had two hits for Strasburg with Haywood driving in three runs.
Jansen Kenty (Georgia Southern) pitched the final 3.1 innings to get the win for the Rebels. He did not allow a hit and struck out seven.
