Purcellville 8, Strasburg 0
The Cannons won their fourth game in a row with a shutout win over the Express.
Cannons starter Connor Hensley (Campbell), the 2025 VBL North Division Pitcher of the Year, pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out six and walking two. Ethan Duff (Arkansas-Little Rock) allowed one hit in two innings to complete the shutout.
Patrick Lyons (Air Force) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs for the Cannons. Vincenzo Cusat (Frederick CC), Anthony Fernandez (St. Bonaventure) and Andrew Bell (Duke) each added two base hits.
Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) had two hits for Strasburg.
New Market 4, Woodstock 3
The Rebels held off a late Woodstock rally to win 4-3.
New Market starter Jansen Kenty (Georgia Southern) pitched no-hit ball for 4.1 innings. He struck out seven and walked three. Caleb Short (Louisiana Tech) allowed just one hit over the final 1.2 innings to earn the save.
Matt Murchison (UNC-Wilmington) belted a two-run homer for the Rebels.
Conner Worth (JMU) hit a three-run homer for the River Bandits.
Winchester 6, Front Royal 3
Winchester scored four runs in the eighth inning to rally for a 6-3 win over the Cardinals.
E’mar Fleming II (High Point) hit a solo homer for the Royals.
Luke Hogue (Northwest Shoals) pitched the final two innings to get the victory. He allowed just one hit, struck out four and walked one.
Front Royal starter Dylan Henshaw (Stony Brook) allowed one run on two hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out four and walked four.
Shawn Andrade (Mercer) had two hits and Joseph Montgomery (Villanova) drove in two runs for the Cardinals.
Culpeper 5, Charlottesville 4
The Tom Sox scored four runs in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough as Culpeper held on for the 5-4 win.
Evan Escobar (Wichita State) drove in two runs for Culpeper.
Brayton Goode (South Alabama) pitched the first three innings and allowed no runs on one hit and Jonathan Fernandez-Andrew (Nova Southeastern) added two scoreless innings, allowing no hits. Roger Niedermaier (Xavier) picked up the save, working 1.1 shutout innings. He gave up two hits and struck out three.
Grayson McCollum (Kennesaw State) and Dom Cafferillo (Georgetown) each had two base hits for the Tom Sox.
Waynesboro 7, Covington 6
Waynesboro scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Jacks 7-6. Brian Archer (George Washington) singled in the tying run and the winning run scored on a passed ball.
Archer and Nick April-Gath (Florida Southwestern) each had two hits for the Generals and Robbie Demetree (Florida Southwestern) drove in a pair of runs.
Three Waynesboro relief pitchers – Caeden Schulte (Elizabethtown), Jared Krause (St. Thomas) and Chase Booth (Roanoke) - combined to hold the Jacks without a hit over the final 3.2 innings.
Grant Smith (College of South Nevada), Ray Yero (Eastern Florida State College) and Mason Reid (Shawnee State) each had two hits for the Lumberjacks. Yero and Darius Brown (Maryland-Eastern Shore) each drove in a pair of runs.
Deundre Jones (Lynn) turned in a stellar middle relief effort for Covington. The lefty struck out eight and walked just one in four scoreless innings. Jones allowed just one hit.
Staunton 25, Harrisonburg 15
Staunton hit four homers and scored 15 runs in the second inning in the win over the Turks.
Brody Melton (Milligan) had a huge night, going 5-for-6 with a pair of homers and nine RBIs. Braedon Trajkovski (Walters State) was 4-for-5 with two homers, a double and six RBIs while Julian Braga (Florida Southwestern) was 3-for-3 with a homer, triple and six RBIs. Jose Vazquez (Arkansas=Pine Bluff) and Easton Ogle (VMI) each added two base hits.
For the Turks, Trey Miranda (Palm Beach Atlantic) was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Andy Perez (Florida Southwestern) and Jaxon Walker (Walters State) each had two hits and Walker drove in two runs.
